TikTok Ban Update
On Friday, the Supreme Court met to discuss the looming TikTok ban. While several news outlets have posted articles stating a result one way or the other, all are simply predictions.
There has not been a final ruling as of writing this.
Sarah Baus, a creator who stood outside the Supreme Court during Friday’s session has shared several updates if you want to follow along.
The court goes back to work on Monday, but this doesn’t mean they’ll rule on Monday. We could hear from them at any point from here on out.

Instagram Shuts Down Creator Monetization Program
According to a recent Business Insider article, Instagram shut down a monetization program that allowed creators to earn revenue from ads placed between the content on their profile.
What’s interesting—the article states that “Meta will continue to place ads in between content on non-teen public Instagram profiles.” But creators just won’t get anything from that? 🤔
Pinterest Trend Report (What to Focus on in 2025)
Pinterest has an uncanny ability to accurately predict emerging content trends and search topics. Over the last 5 years, 80% of their predictions have come true.
Here’s some of what they predict will trend in 2025 (taken straight from their site, some paraphrased):
Cherry Coded
via Pinterest
Gen Z and millennials will infuse cherries into their makeup, menus, and mood boards, with search terms like:
cherry vibe
dark cherry red
cherry bedroom
What to take from this: If you’re releasing merch, consider a cherry color. If you share home content, featuring a cherry wall art might make your video go viral.
Rebel Floats
Gen Z and millennials will give old school soda pop a radical makeover. So scoot on up to the fountain for a float that’s anything but traditional. People may search more for:
fruit soda
soda drinks recipes
homemade soda
What to take from this: If you create food content, share some soda-based drink recipes.
Player One
via Pinterest
This year, Gen Z and Gen X will customize their digital personas, designing their avatar’s hair, outfits, and even accessories. See search terms like:
avatar codes
skirt codes
game avatar
What to take from this: If you create gaming content, share tips on how to customize your avatars.
Peak Travel
In 2025, the mountain ranges will become the travel destination as Gen Z and Gen X seek out treetop views and that fresh mountain air. Search volume is already up for terms like:
dolomites
mountain trip outfit
skiing fits
portillo chile
What to take from this: If you create fashion content, share your perfect ski trip outfit. If you’re a travel creator, share insider tips for booking the perfect ski trip.
Castlecore
via Pinterest
Medieval is having a major moment in 2025. People will take home decor inspiration from castles, while fashion and accessories will be gothic inspired. Look for search terms like:
medieval core
castle house plans
What to take from this: If you do fashion content, a medieval-inspired look might make the crowd go wild. If you create home content, gothic decor might perform.
Seeing Double
This year, coordinated fits will be the topic du jour in the group chat, from collaborating on festival fits to aligning on date night looks. See search terms like:
matching outfits for couples casual
coordinating outfits for friends
matching jerseys couples
bracelets matching
What to take from this: If you have a product line, consider creating a matching pair of items. If you create fashion content, consider sharing tips on how to match your partner or the vibe of a party. If you create couples content, share your matching outfits.
Mix & Maximalist
via Pinterest
Gen X and boomers will mix and match brilliantly bold patterns, eclectic prints, and delightful textures in all colors of the rainbow. These search terms are already on the rise:
eclectic apartment
eclectic maximalism
vintage maximalism
What to take from this: If you create home content, experiment with some maximalist looks.
